What is Functional Rehab
Injury, pain, stiffness in the body are all caused by either one single event or an accumulation of events which lead to poor movement and start the process of the body moving towards dysfunction. Jonathan will teach you how to help yourself while he establishes a way to create proper function in your body. Jonathan uses Health analysis, Functional Assessment, orthopaedic assessment and exercise assessment to determine the best treatment plan for you. All client will receive Video exercises for their home care.
First Principles of Movement
Dr. Liebenson is a integral leader in the health care world, creator of the First Principles of Movement , and author of many books on Rehab and Performance. His courses have taught me that Manual Therapy can only get you so far and that developing proper movement patterns through specific muscle activation exercises is more efficient and makes the client stronger to help prevent further chronic Conditions. Functional Rehab is an integral part of my practice. I have seen clients progression increase greatly towards a healthier movement when they are treated using these methods. When Humans are trained to move in proper patterns, chronic conditions decrease, and we can live life without daily pain.
Kettlebells Performance Training
My personal experience with Kettlebells was an amazing one. I was suffering from Low Back Pain and Knee Pain. After taking a intro to kettlebells under the instruction of Darius Gilbert and Rekha Aylur my pain was gone. My body mechanics changed and I moved better then I have in years. 2 months later I went back to Alexandria VA to complete my Hardstyle Kettlebell Certification. Since then I have also completed my Kettlebell for Sports performance specialist course and meet weekly with Darius and other Master Class coaches. I have had the honour of teaching this class to Master Coaches from all over the world. I am RKC certified as well as DSPCC certified with Coach Darius. I offer online and live training weekly for kids age 7 and up as well as adult classes.
McGill Method
Fall 2018 I Had the Chance to take a 4 day course with the LOW BACK man himself, Dr. Stuart McGill. Stuart McGill is the go to scientist / clinician for LOW BACK Pain. With well over 30 years of scientific work around LOW BACK pain under his belt. It was an honour to start my learning process towards being a more sound clinician for low back clients. This 4 day course is the first start to becoming a McGill Certified practitioner. His teaching have opened my mind even more to the power of movement within the body. He and his team have given me many new tools in my approach to helping client’s with LOW BACK pain.
FMS- Functional Movement Screen
This Assessment Screen will help me acquire more information about each client I screen. It will give me detail information about how you move and function and allow me to prepare a BETTER active care program suited to what numbers you presented on your screen.
